Good in Humanity and the Meteor Shower incident

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 17, 2009, 12:36 PM
  • Mood: Optimism
  • Reading: Notes from classes
  • Eating: Whatever I can find around this place
  • Drinking: Once again, whatever the hell I can find to drink
The following is directly copied and pasted from MSN where I sent a long message to a guy from Werelist who I've talked to recently and debated with about human-kind. Due to her own unfortunate past personal experiences, she would tell me that friends aren't worth it, and they will more often than not stab you in the back, and humanity as a whole is completely destructive, and there's nothing good about humans, and how she would like to destroy them all because of this, and all that.

Hey, I know you aren't online now, but I thought I'd let you know a few personal examples of the good of people nowadays. The other day, a college student helped an old lady in a grocery store to get groceries off the higher shelves. Neither knew each other. I saw it, and felt good about people. But, last night, my friends, who I'd only recently met, saved my life basically.

We were out at 3 AM to watch the meteor shower, and we got locked out of my truck. All I was wearing were jeans and a T-Shirt, and it was around 30 degrees. The company that was gonna send someone out to help was gonna take at least an hour and a half, and we didn't know what the hell we were gonna do.

But, someone back on campus who we called was able to get a truck and a few people together to come and pick us up. At 4 am in the morning, they were willing to come help us, out in the middle of nowhere, even though they had classes the next day, and we woke them up. Then, when we got back to campus, I was already at the point that I was so cold, I was sick and throwing up.

But, because I'd called out the company to unlock the truck, I needed to be back there when they arrived to confirm it all and to drive my truck back. But, I was having a hard time even walking.

So, my friends who had been out there just as long as I had let me go in and go to warm up and sleep while they went back themselves to watch out for the people, and then they drove my truck back for me.

I was so lightheaded, everything was spinning, and I was feeling really sleepy, and not in a good way, but because I was helped up to my room and into bed where it was warm, I was alright. If I had stayed out there until the company had come, I probably would have suffered from hypothermia, or worse hypothermia, if I did already at that point, from the chill and the wind.
If I had gone back out there to meet the people later, I would have likely had the same thing happen.

If I hadn't had my friends help me, I actually could have possibly died from it. But, because of them, I'm alive now, even if I am sick as hell and feeling like crap still.

Anyway, there's a perfect example of what I meant a while back about the good of humans. Sure, they have the potential to be destructive, as we both know, and they definately cause a lot of issues in the world, but there's definately good in many parts of human-kind, and it really makes me have faith in humanity as a whole.

Like I've told her before, when you look out at a deserted wasteland from 50,000 feet above ground, all you see is the horrible sight of death and destruction, and if there is any life
that you can see, it's of plants covered in thorns, and you see nothing good about it whatsoever. You may even feel like just destroying it all and making a new start from scratch because you learn to hate it so much. But, you get down there in the thorns, and walk on the ground level for a while, and you'll occasionally come across a rose or two in the thorns, or some other sights that really make you think twice about it. Look some more, and you'll likely find things that'll be so incredible to you, that you'll find you can't imagine wanting to destroy it all anymore. Hell, there are some things there that make you want to protect it all.

As I've told her, you find that rose in the thorn bushes, and find something worth protecting, and then see if you feel the same way about destroying humanity. Just something for everyone to think about. lol

By the way, the meteors were really cool! :XD:

FINALLY FILLED IN!!!!!

Where to start...
Huh... what DO people usually put on this thing?
Likes, dislikes, hobbies...? Looks like all of that stuff's pretty much covered in the info section though...

Well, for starters, I see weird flashes randomly in various places, I have weird gut-feelings to do things or go places, and when I follow those feelings, I end up benefitting from it... what else to put (that's not really weird)... I've always been real big about wolves, and I'm a species dysphoric wolf therian (And damn proud of it!), I have a little sister with Down Syndrome for whom I'd take a bullet, go to hell and back, and then take more punishment afterwards if that's what it took to protect her (Mess with her and I bite your head off. Whether this is litereal or not will depend on how bad you hurt her.), I do Digital Animation as a hobby, and apparently, I do a decent job at it, I've been told I'm a very deep person, I tend to talk too much sometimes, usually about something that people consider to be "controversial," or "insulting," or "offensive," and I usually end up saying something stupid that either gets me yelled at or laughed at, and now I feel really weird after listing all that about myself.

Hmm... that covers the basics, so what the heck to I put now... I haven't actually used a comb in years, since my hair ends up how I like it without one, I drive with the windows down all the time (even during the winter), and I walk barefoot unless I have to wear shoes. Oh, and I also howl a lot, usually while I'm driving down the road, or with my girlfriend. I get destructive when I'm not doing something or using my head, so I've been folding paper cranes for a long time to keep myself from destroying stuff as often (results vary somewhat, since I end up running out of paper a lot. In these cases, I usually end up either finding something else to do, bitting my nails, or ripping things apart, usually with my teeth), I don't consider myself to be too drastically odd, but I know I'm not anywhere near normal either, I don't think I can draw my way out of a paper bag, but I can write really well, and I'm pretty open-minded about most things, to the point where, like I said before, I end up getting people pissed at me for challenging the way they see the world. I like music in foreign languages (except spanish, since I hear too much of that at school when I'm IN Spanish), I like TV that makes me think (No, just because a few of my favorites are anime doesn't mean I like ALL anime. Japan comes out with just as much crap TV as every other country), and I'm feeling even MORE strange after listing all of that. Oh well, those who know me can confirm that I'm a nice guy, if not a little... odd sometimes, so it works itself out. As far as introductions go, I guess that's probably it.

Anyway,

Later!
